Les Portes du Mont Saint-Michel owns and manages 5 contemporary hotels (2 to 4 star), some high-end, others more family-friendly. Each establishment has its own personality and charm.
In terms of cuisine, our four restaurants offer a wide range of dishes and menus featuring local and seasonal produce. Whether you are looking for a brasserie or a semi-gourmet restaurant, you will definitely find what you are looking for.
For those who love the outdoors, our open-air establishments offer a range of accommodation. You can choose from one of our 3 campsites, a caravan park, and a holiday village with self-catering gîtes.
At the end of your stay, pop into our shop (Les galeries du Mont Saint-Michel) for gifts, souvenirs and local specialities, and take home a small piece of Mont Saint-Michel in your suitcase.
After the war, tourists flocked to Mont Saint-Michel in ever greater numbers. There were two campsites close by at the time: “camping du Mont Saint-Michel” and “camping de la Baie et du doux repos”. “Ushers” from each campsite stood on their side of the road leading to the Mount, encouraging tourists to go with them rather than their rivals across the way!
It was not long before the two campsites decided to merge so they could respond more efficiently to the ever-increasing demand. In 1953, the first tourist resort was established in Mont Saint-Michel bay, with a bar-restaurant with a capacity of 100 people, a grocery store, campsite and hostel. Les Portes du Mont Saint-Michel was born.
In 1973, due to an increasing flow of tourists, the group expanded to launch our first hotel. The Les Portes du Mont Saint-Michel complex, as it exists today, has been developed in stages based on numbers of tourists and their more general needs.
At Les Portes du Mont Saint-Michel, we continually maintain and improve the quality of our venues and hospitality, so we have a number of new projects in the pipeline. Our central ethos is to uphold a high level of service while embracing elements of the environment and heritage of the Mont Saint-Michel region.
